Robe Show Lighting enjoyed a buoyant PALA 2003 Show, which also proved a positive step in developing its ever-expanding global distribution network. With the SARS crisis earlier in the year, the exhibition was an unknown quantity for all those making the journey to Singapore.

Robe had a busy and buzzing show. They also took advantage of the opportunity to strengthen the relationship with local distributor Light & Sound Distribution, in addition to making moves to grow business opportunities offered by the many visitors from the Asian subcontinent.

With strong attendance from India, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia, China, Taiwan and the Philippines, the exhibition was a massive success for the Czech manufacturer.

Luis Teo, director of Light & Sound Distribution, and his team designed and built a compact but stylish and effective booth showing the entire product range for the first time.

“I was truly overwhelmed. Our presence at the show certainly raised Robe brand awareness, and we have high expectations for sales, and many promising inquiries to follow up”

. There was particular interest in the new ColorSpot 1200 AT, so much so that the first 4 fixtures were sold off the booth to one of Light & Sound Distribution’s dealers.

Robe’s Josef Valchar and Harry von den Stemmen were in Singapore for the entire duration of the show. They also invited several Robe distributors from the area to the show, and used it as a meeting and gathering point for many important elements in the Robe team.

“I also feel good and more relaxed in Singapore now. My last visit was only one day, and was definitely not long enough to catch the vibes!”

The general feel is that Singapore is now THE place to be … and Robe will be developing relationships, heightening its profile and establishing itself as a brand leader in the area over the coming year.
