It’s always exciting being involved in something new and innovative, so Nashville based lighting and visuals designer Chris Lisle was delighted to be invited by production manager Jim Dorroh of LEO Events to light seven performance stages at the inaugural KAABOO festival recently staged in Del Mar, California.

De Leest Rolls with Large Robe Investment

Theater De Leest in Waalwijk, the Netherlands, is a contemporary cultural centrepiece of the city and its surrounding region, which opened in 1996. A major refurbishment 10 years ago saw the addition of the ‘new’ 200 capacity black box theatre hall complete with a retractable seating system, making it a flexible space, which, together with the existing 520-seater main auditorium, offers a vibrant programme of musicals, concerts, cabaret, family shows, opera, dance, youth theatre, and film screenings.

Endla Theatre Re-Energises with Robe

Endla Theatre in Pärnu, Estonia, has reinvested in Robe LED products across its two performance halls as part of a wider conversion to LED lighting, related to the Estonian “Green Turn” initiative. This has seen 16 of the country’s major theatres – a mix of local government and private performing arts institutions – convert lighting stock from tungsten-halogen to LED over the last 12 months.

Peter Pan Flies with Luz Studio & Robe

Montreal-based Luz Studio, headed by Matthieu Larivée, was asked by producers Entourage to create a visual design for their staging of Peter Pan the Musical at the city’s Espace St-Denis theatre. It was the first time that this famous fairytale musical had been presented there and in Quebec, and the challenge was to ensure that all the adventure and charm of the original story were replicated in a more contemporary setting.
